So a group of gals at my office (7 counting me) have started a three month Biggest Loser's pool. We will weigh in on Monday and Tuesday (half and half because two of them work Tues-Sat instead of the normal work week) the pot entry is $20 so who ever loses the largest percent of weight will win. Another motivator to keep me on track, knowing 6 women I work with will see my weight every week, scary. I am quite sure I will be the heaviest one at least the first week!!!
Anyway that leads me to another point, I have a ton of clothes I could wear 6 years ago that I love, and I was an adult and full grown then so there is no reason why I shouldn't fit them again (it is not like I am trying to achieve my 18 year old body or anything like that which could be unrealistic and an unhealthy goal). Anyway I used to Rollerblade everyday almost in these cute shorts that someone brought me from Hawaii (they are size 9). I SWEAR that I used to fit into them without problems (as hard as that is to believe)... well I can only get them about half way up my thighs now:
So I hope that in three months I will at least be able to pull them all the way up! I know some people who bought something they aspire to fit in to, but I thought it would be better not to let myself pick something unattainable, I mean I KNOW I used to fit these, so there is no reason not to be able to do it again!

the Biggest loser pool sounds great - definitely a good motivator. I wish we had something like that in our office. For me, each time I have gained weight and then lost it, my body was never the same. When I was at this weight before, I was in about 2 sizes smaller, so I guess sometimes its just what happens over time. I think its great that you have the shorts and are striving to get into them again. I know you will be able to do it.
This is such a creative and fun way to "measure"! To me, it's much more fun (cute, too) than stepping on the scale. Though perhaps not as scientific. :)
